The 50th Anniversary of Freedom Day Festival will be held from August 19 – 21 in the Kalkaringi/Daguragu Community, over 750km south from Darwin. It is expected to be the biggest Indigenous festival in Australia’s history with over 10,000 people estimated to attend. Amongst them are the likes of the Lingiari and Mabo families as well as the Hardy and Hollows families who have been long-term supporters. Some of Australia’s top entertainers will also be present in addition to representatives from all levels of government.
